    • Todd Mc Review

One of the reviews states they downgraded the options between the 24-25 model years. The owner seems to have purchased a 2025 Golf R with the "Euro Style Package", which " is designed for driving purists who want a heightened experience. We’ve removed weight by taking out the standard panoramic sunroof. We also added manually-adjustable front seats covered in grippy diamond-pattern fabric and an Akrapovič titanium exhaust that enhances acoustics." Please always do you research before purchasing any vehicle.
    • Downgrades Galore

I previously owned a 2024 Golf R and was totally satisfied with the interior and performance of the vehicle. When I started reading reviews of the 2025 Golf R, I was sold and could hardly wait to upgrade due to the HP increase of 13 hp. What I did not know was all the downgrades VW put into this 54K hatchback. No reviews mentioned about all that VW removed from this "top of the line" hatchback. First of all: 1. Sunroof Gone (that was mentioned in reviews) 2. Electric seats gone (the manual adjust in front of the seat replaced the electric and all adjustments are also manual) *LUMBAR and old school pump style on the side of the seat. 3. Electric steering wheel adjustment gone (manual lever to adjust) 4. Leather interior gone (replaced with cloth) 5. Functionality in the infotainment system has been modified and does not have the same features as the 2024 model. This car increased roughly 6k ($54,424) from the 2024 model to the 2025 model. For a car that is supposed to be the "top of the line" VW model many of the features and functions were removed. I kept this car for 1500 miles and traded it in. The value of the car decreased 10k in 4 weeks. FYI...........this is a cheap rendition of the previous Golf R vehicle. You can totally witness how VW how downgraded this vehicle. Wanted to let everyone know about the changes VW made to the vehicle before they make the same mistake did 1 month ago.
    • Perfect car for me

Dealers in my area are charging $5-7K over MSRP for the Golf R, putting it out of my reach. This is assuming you can put a deposit on a car that is "expected in" but not yet delivered. I worked with a dealer nearly 400 miles away in another state who offered a much better deal and made the drive worthwhile. As a long-time VW driver, I find this care a combination of great, understated looks, plenty fast, and well-equipped. All-wheel drive is a big plus in my part of the country. Yes, the infotainment system needs a knob because changing climate values requires interacting with the touch-screen, but it's not a deal-breaker. Just takes some getting used to. The car is perfect for daily errands and way too much fine on twisty and hilly roads. Since this is the last year for 6-speed transmissions, I'm happy to have bought a car I'm crazy about at a price that was more affordable.
