Performance
The new GMC Acadia has two engine options for Washington, DC drivers to choose from: a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque and a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque.
Both engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available on both engine options. The 2.0-liter Turbo engine has a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds, while the V6 engine has a maximum towing capacity of up to 4,000 pounds
Acadia's Traction Select System has five drive modes: Snow, Sport, Tow/Haul, Off-Road and Normal. These allow you to optimize the vehicle's performance for different driving conditions in the Gaithersburg area.
Safety
There are many safety features on board the new Acadia. One example is lane change and side blind zone alert, which uses sensors to monitor traffic around your vehicle. If a vehicle is fast approaching or enters your blind spot, you'll be alerted with a visual icon in the corresponding side mirror, and, if you signal to change lanes towards it, it will alert you with an audible alert, too.
Another example is front pedestrian braking, which can detect pedestrians in front of the vehicle. It can apply the brakes automatically to help lessen or even avoid the impact altogether.
Interior & Exterior
On the outside, the new Acadia features a grille insert, LED headlamps and taillamps that have GMC's signature C-shape design, giving it a more aggressive look. The LED taillights and 20-inch wheels add to the SUV's impressive style. Other standard and available features include roof rails, GMC emblems, ebony twilight metallic exterior, a hands-free power liftgate and power folding mirrors.
The interior of the Acadia is just as comfortable and spacious as the exterior is stylish. With room for up to seven passengers, there's plenty of space for everyone. The optional second-row captain's chairs make it easy to get in and out of the third row. Plus, when you need even more space, the Acadia's fold-flat seats make it easy to load cargo.
The Acadia has premium cloth seating with available leather-appointed first and second-row seating on higher trims. Other options for Bethesda shoppers to consider are advanced temperature control for passenger comfort, a dual skyscape sunroof and a heated steering wheel.
Technology
The new Acadia has an available head-up display that can display critical information like navigation, speed, cruise control and lane departure warning on the windshield. The 8-inch voice-activated infotainment screen allows you to send and receive calls and texts and listen to music and podcasts through Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. The Acadia also offers an optional eight-speaker Bose® premium sound system for superior entertainment experiences.
